About PRLCON
PRLCON is the first conference dedicated to Pearl, a proof-of-useful-work blockchain that GPUs can mine while they run AI models. It’s a 1-day event in 2027.
PRLCON gathers the GPU operators, protocol researchers, allocators and builders working on Pearl for 1 day. The program runs in 5 blocks: mining and fleet ops, models and inference, protocol and core, markets and liquidity, and building on Pearl. PRLCON isn’t affiliated with Pearl Research Labs. It covers Pearl the way a Bitcoin conference covers Bitcoin.
About Pearl
- Mainnet
- Live since April 27, 2026. Fair launch, with no premine and no insider or VC allocation.
- Mining
- Runs on matrix multiplication, so a GPU serving AI inference can mine PRL in the same pass.
- Supply
- Capped at 2.1 billion PRL. Emission follows block height on a smooth curve with no halvings; half the cap is out at block 650,226.
- Blocks
- A 194-second target. Each block carries a zero-knowledge proof of under 60 KB in place of a nonce.
- Upgrades
- 4 consensus forks at fixed heights between June 12 and August 11, 2026. Pearl’s CEO said on Sep 25 that an FP8 hard fork is on testnet; no mainnet height is set as of Oct 3, 2026.
- Developer
- Pearl Research Labs. Co-founders Omri Weinstein (CEO) and Ilan Komargodski.
- Right now
- Block 122,614, with 333.2M PRL mined (prlscan.com, Oct 3, 12:07 UTC).
